Branded as ‘NFC Connect,’ this passive IC operates and is read via near-field communications, adhering to ISO15693 and NFC Forum Type 5 industry standards. It integrates seamlessly into existing workflows, offering inlay, assembly, and converter partners a chance to broaden their product offerings, according to Pragmatic's sales VP, James Davey. It supports NFC-enabled iOS and Android smartphones and can be mounted on single-sided NFC RFID antennas. The initial product, PR1301, is available as frame-mounted on 300mm wafers, as individual dies, and on sample inlays. The flexible ICs have a minimum bend radius of 5mm. For security, the company ensures that the unique pre-encoded identification number is immutable. NFC Connect is produced at Pragmatic Park in County Durham, UK. Last September, the company showcased a proof-of-concept 32-bit 60kHz 6mW RISC-V processor, created by depositing IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) thin-film transistors onto a flexible polyimide substrate
